BEFORE DEPARTURE

How can I book my trip?

You can either book your trip through:

  • • Your travel agent
  • • Port service, Royal Arctic Line
  • • Online booking, click here.

 

How do I pay for my trip?

  • • At Online booking, payment is automatic and immediate with a credit card. The following credit cards are accepted: Dankort/VISA-Dankort, MasterCard, Maestro, VISA, VISA Electron and JCB.
  • • Through our agents, (travel agents, in this case Greenland Travel and Vejle Rejser).


What do I do, if I have problems with my online booking?


What time at the earliest/latest should I be at Sarfaq Ittuk?

  • • You can board 1 hour before departure at the earliest.
  • • You must board at least 30 minutes before departure.
    Note: At shorter stops (at some harbours), you must be prepared to board as soon as the ship arrives.

 

Where can I find information about delays?

  • • Follow the timetable on +299 34 91 91 or on our home page. Here, there are daily updates of Sarfaq Ittuk’s arrivals/departures.

 

Can my children travel unaccompanied?

  • • Children under 12 years of age must travel with a parent/guardian. They must travel in the same class (e.g. cabin, compartment or deck).

 

How many kilos of baggage am I allowed?

  • • You have a baggage allowance of 30 kilos on board Sarfaq Ittuk.

 

What do I do, if I want to change my travel dates?

  • • If you bought your ticket through Online booking, you can also change / upgrade / cancel it here.
  • • If you bought your voyage at a travel agency, you can also change your ticket here.


What do I do, if I miss the boat?

  • • You can either change your travel date,
  • • or you can obtain a 50% refund on the ticket price.

 

DURING THE TRIP

What documents do I need on the trip?

  • • You must bring your ticket with you on board Sarfaq Ittuk. At present, there is no requirement for ID upon boarding.


Is it possible to book cabins or compartments next to each other?

  • • When space permits. This is determined by the purser’s office, where you get your key when you board. Remember to inform the purser.

 

Are duvets/bedding included in the price (cabin, compartment, deck)?

  • • The bed is made up in a cabin
  • • There is a night pack (bed linen and towel) in a compartment
  • • On deck, you can bring a sleeping bag or purchase a blanket in the purser’s office.


Will we have the compartment to ourselves?

  • • There is room for four people in a compartment. If you are travelling alone, you will be accommodated in a compartment with other passengers of the same sex.

 

What do I do with my baggage if I have a compartment/deck ticket?

  • • There are separate baggage rooms on board for your baggage so that it does not take up space in the compartment/deck. These are open rooms without locks.


Can I bring a pram/baby carriage?

  • • Yes, you can bring a pram free of charge.


Can I bring a bicycle?

  • • Yes, you can bring a bicycle. There is a charge of DKK 300 which is payable on board.

 

Can I bring a kayak?

  • • Yes, you can bring a kayak. There is a charge of DKK 300 which is payable on board.


Can I buy food on board?

  • • It is possible to buy food in the cafeteria on board.

 

What do I do, if I have medicine that needs to be stored in a cool place?

  • • Contact the purser when you board.

 

Can I bring frozen goods?

  • • There is no freezer on board.


Is smoking allowed on board?

  • • Sarfaq Ittuk is smoke-free, but smoking is allowed outside on deck.

 

Should I bring cash aboard Sarfaq Ittuk?

  • • It is possible to withdraw cash at the purser’s office. Akiliut, Dankort and some credit cards are accepted.

 

Can I exchange money on board?

  • • It is possible to exchange banknotes to coins. There is a coin machine on deck 2.

 

Can I bring an animal on board?

  • • Yes, cats and dogs are allowed on board. (The voyage must not take more than 36 hours). A vaccination certificate is required as well as an approved transport crate. There is a fee of DKK 300 which is payable on board. Note that dogs/cats are transported in their crates outside on the deck.


Is there wireless internet on board?

  • • Yes, there is wireless internet on board Sarfaq Ittuk. It costs DKK 100 for two continuous hours.


What do I do, if I get seasick?

  • • Medication against motion sickness is on sale in the cafeteria on board.


Can I stay on board, when the boat is in port in Nuuk for a whole day?

  • • This is possible, unless there is a function. Advice of this is received in advance and passengers will be notified.

 

When do I have to be out of the compartment/cabin?

  • • During daytime, you must be out of your compartment/cabin 1 hour before arrival in port. In the case of early morning arrivals, you must be out when the ship makes port.


AFTER THE TRIP

What do I do if any of my possessions are damaged on board?

  • • Contact the purser’s office before you leave the ship. You will receive the necessary assistance here.


How do I cancel my ticket?

Remember to cancel before departure; otherwise, you lose 50% of the ticket price. You cancel your ticket there, where you booked it:

  • • Online booking: Go to the home page and cancel the ticket.
  • Ticket booked at a travel agency: contact the travel agency.


What are the terms for obtaining a refund?

  • • Before departure: Online Booking: You can obtain a refund against a charge per person of DKK 75 for each leg of the journey.
  • • After departure: Online Booking: You can obtain a refund for the ticket against a charge per person of 50% of the ticket price.
  • • Through the travel agency: contact your travel agency.
